Went to the flea market this weekend with full on intent of earning money from my sales just to spend it on myself. I took a bunch of my mom's old jewelry, bags, shoes, and collection of amazing Shaft style leather trench coats and made out pretty well considering that none of her high end shoes sold because she wore a size 6. Apparently, we live in a generation where women's feet are larger because of what we eat. Or at least that was what I was told by an adorable old lady who claimed flea markets were her job. I made out with some great finds and a full stomach and some wise cantor from older women at the Hayes Manor flea market.
I was on the fence about the purple sequined dress purchase, but I learned from Tracee Ellis Ross that if you put something on hold and by the end of the week you're still thinking about it (day in my case), then you should get it. Using that logic and the fact that it was only $5, I bought it with the idea that I'll wear it in NYC on a night out with those pictured items and a leather motorcycle jacket.
This $5.00 ornate style vintage necklace is probably one of my favorite finds at the flea market. I can't wait to wear it with a loose fitting white t-shirt and a pair of cut offs this summer. I live for a statement piece, since my style is so laid back.

| Unfortunately I got not old lady back sass with this purchase; doesn't make it any less special however. |
Swiped these woven leather boots from a cute old lady who had the strange selling technique of talking people out of purchasing. I'm not really sure she was ready to part ways with these guys in particular, but she offered me a sweet deal: $15. Claims they were originally $200. I can't be so sure, but they look damn good on my feet. I made the mistake of trying to haggle a $23 sale to $20 and she almost took the boots back because, "She wasn't sure if I would be really be able to fit them anyway." Sassy indeed, but who was I to talk back and not get these bad boys?
Got these art deco style mirrors for $4.00 because you can never have too many mirrors.
