I woke up one day and felt compelled to "be." Not like Joan of Arc or anything but I felt like I was being told to doing something great. To do something that I thoroughly enjoyed and that I would be rewarded with if not only personal satisfaction. What I'm getting to is that as an artist, it's difficult to put your all into something that you're not satisfied with. Making art for other people, in my opinion, is not what art is about. So I had this idea to do everything that I wanted to do and share it with the general public; past customers, friends, family, potential customers, etc. To completely destroy and rebuild a brand (or civilization metaphorically), takes work, strength, and nerve. I don't mean to just snatch the rug under Rich Harlots supporters feet, but it wasn't working for me anymore. To me, it wasn't working for anyone anymore. Quite repetitive designs with long shipping waits because of the long creation process. I like instant gratification just like anyone else and I want my customers/supporters to get the instant gratification that they deserve. Not only gratification but quality. Knowing that you're receiving something that took time and talent but is also filled with passion and a feeling of glory is important to me as well.
No one likes to feel held back or limited when there is no good reason to be. That being said, I want to share with whomever chooses to join me on this new chapter everything that means something to me. I feel as though it's important that your know the designer's history and inspiration especially when it's coming from an independent. Western Cvlztn is the birth of a new brand. Culture, history, style, and inspiration. A brand that exposes you to a unique and personal style experience and wants to interact with you. Lastly, civilization, as defined as an advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached; I'd like to think that my Cvlztn, our Cvlztn is a high level of culture, style, ingenuity, and freedom.
